When Should We Fast for Ashura?

On the 10th day of Muharram, the fast of Ashura is observed, according to the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) In addition to fasting on Ashura itself, Muslims are strongly advised to fast on the day before and after Ashura, i.e. on the 9th and 11th of Muharram.
