They culminate in Eid al-Adha, celebrating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. These days offer profound spiritual opportunities and rewards due to these significant religious events.   Things Muslims Can Do Right Now Muslims are told to do many acts of worship and good works on these special days to get the most out of them.
  • Fasting: During the first nine days, especially on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, it is very important to fast. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that if you fast on this day, your sins from last year and the next year will be forgiven.
  • Prayer and Remembrance: As a Muslim, you should pray more and think about Allah more often (Dhikr). It is very helpful to say easy things like “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is Great), “Alhamdulillah” (All praise is due to Allah), or “Glory be to Allah.”
  • Charity and Good Deeds: These days it feels especially good to give to charity, help others, and do good things.
  • Reading the Quran: Reading and thinking about the Quran strengthens your faith and gets that person closer to Allah.
  • Asking Allah to Forgive You: Now is a great time to start over with a clean heart and ask Allah to forgive you.
  The Arfah Day The Day of Arafah is on the ninth day of September. Today is a very important day, especially for people who are going on Hajj. A lot of people come to the plain of Arafat to pray and ask Allah to help them. Everyone who is not performing Hajj should fast on this day because fasting is highly beneficial and recommended. Eid-ul-Adha It is Eid ul-Adha on the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah. This holiday honours the fact that Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was ready to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) as a way to obey Allah. Allah instead gave them a ram to sacrifice.
  • Eid Prayer: On the morning of Eid, Muslims meet for a special prayer.
